On August 13, 2007 I was transported, via helicopter,
to Florida Hospital Orlando for emergency surgery of a
ruptured colon. Upon awakening in the recovery room after
my surgery, I saw my two sisters and Dr. Simmonds holding
hands and praying for me. I later learned that when I
arrived to the hospital, I had been literally minutes
from death. Dr. Simmonds had performed a colostomy and
told me that within four to six months he was confident
that he would be able to operate again to remove the infection
completely and reverse my colostomy.
There
is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Simmonds saved my life.
If someone would have offered me the most renowned surgeon
in the world to perform my second surgery, I would have
told them I already have him in Dr. Simmonds. I thank
God every day for saving my life and for Dr. Simmonds-
who is as fine a man as he is a surgeon.
The
Surgeon Specialists of Florida Hospital were very kind,
answered every question I had, and truly cared about my
recovery and my quality of life. I will be forever grateful.

Harmon was my dream doctor. She really cares about her
patients, and her work is precise. The office staff was
polite and very organized, and they scheduled the surgery
fast. The whole experience was awesome, and the hospital
is awesome too! I would highly recommend Dr. Harmon and
her staff as they are skilled doctors - you are truly
in good hands.
